Takaaki is the CEO of Empath Inc. He previously worked as the general manager of the ICT department at Smartmedical in 2011 where he developed Empath, an AI technology that can recognize emotions through vocal cues. Before joining Smartmedical, Takaaki had worked as a board director for Yunin Corp and played a role in revitalizing the Yunin township in Hokkaido by developing an agricultural experience game app for the largest social networking service (SNS) in Japan, Mixi. He has also served as a research fellow at the Division for Health Service Promotion at the University of Tokyo. Takaaki obtained his Bachelor's degree in Education from the Department of Japanese Language and Literature at Waseda University.
