The International Organization for Migration (IOM) was founded in 1951 and is the primary inter-governmental organization focused on migration. It collaborates with governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental partners and has 162 member states, 9 observer states, and offices in over 100 countries. IOM aims to promote humane and organized migration for the benefit of all by providing services and advice to both governments and migrants.
