Humanikin GmbH is a Swiss company founded in 2008 as a spin-off of Empa. It specializes in developing physical human simulators, body monitoring devices, and advanced protective clothing. The company was accredited by the European Union in 2009 to take part in EU FP7 framework projects and has been a registered trademark for simulating the human body since 2010. Humanikin focuses on simulating coupled physical processes such as thermal and moisture transport through building structures.
