His maternal grandfather emigrated from Bessarabia. His mother's name was So- nia Crugliac, in Hebrew she had the first name Yaffa, and in Yiddish she was Sheindl. Efraim Grinberg is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Movado Group (MGI), the world-renowned watch company. MGI designs, manufactures and mar-
kets Movado, EBEL, Concord, Coach, HUGO BOSS, Juicy Couture, Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger and Scuderia Ferrari branded watches worldwide.
Named President and Chief Operating Officer in 1990, Mr. Grinberg oversaw the Company's initial public offering in 1993. Sincethat time, he has been responsible for building MGI into a global enterprise.
The recent establishment of a wholly owned corporate subsidiary in China is
serving as a platform to increase MGI's international presenceby expanding its world- wide wholesale distribution capabilities. Movado is internationally recognized for its commitment to the arts, an association which is intrinsic to the brand's identity and
integrated into its marketing initiatives. Mr. Grinberg continues this legacy through his support and advocacy of the arts.
He maintains active affiliations with numerous arts organizations including
Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts where he serves on the Board of Directors. He is also on the Board of Jewelers of America. He is a graduate of Brown University
