He was a quadruple international draughts world champion amongst juniors (1987, Trento; 1988, Granville; 1989, Tallinn; 1990, Rotterdam). He is international master and international draughts master on a 10x10 board. He won at the age of 10 the silver medal at USSR Juniors Championship of Tiraspol. He settled to Israel since 1990. He isquadruple international draughts world champion and two-time world champion amongst cadets (1988, 1989). He is bronze medaled at the International Championship of Blitz Draughts (2000); winner of the Team Championship of Netherlands as member of "Van Stight Thans" (Schiedam) club, 2008 and 2009. He emigrated to Israel in 1990. First secretary of the Embassy of Israel in Belarus (2004-2008). At the end of diplomatic service, he became the director of Lean-Group company of Belarus. Graduate of School Sport of Tighina for children and young men. His first trainer was Nuhim Gringuz (1932-1994) and continued his studies with trainer Iosif Funk. His mother, Janna Coifman, conducted the draughts game within the City Pioneers Palace. Igal Coifman is the first draughts player from the Republic of Moldova, who has the biggest performances in draughts at world level. He si sports master in draughts on a 10x10 board.
