She is the daughter of actress Svetlana Toma. She had herfirst role at the age of 12, in the movie 3дравствуйте, я приехал! (1979). Irina Lachina chose t h e profession of actress thanks to the director Vsevolod Shilovsky, who offered her a role in the film Блуждающие звёзды (The Wandering Stars) in 1991. In 1993, she graduated with honors the Shchukin Theater School in Moscow. After graduation, she got a job at the Taganka Theater, then at the Contemporary Theater. Initially, she was given several secondary roles, but in 1995, sheobtainedthe role inthe film The French Waltz, where she played a heroic personality- the commander of a partisan detachment, who visited the fascist concentration camp. 'The role was very difficult from a psychological point of view, but the actress managed to cope. In 1998, she starred in the film The Breast of
Christ, shot by Polish directors, but which did not appear to the Russian public. For this role she won the 1998 Special Television Award in Gdynia, Poland. Thefame came in 2001, after the series Леди Бомж and its continuation Леди Босс. The actress had
the central role. Her heroine, Lisa Basargina, formerly detained on false charges, turns into a real businesswoman. The audience really liked this story, the series had a record number of views. Irina wanted to experiment with something new, so she decided to learn and become a director. In 2008, she began her studies at the Ostankino State Institute, which she successfully graduated in 2014.
