He was born in a family of immigrants, father - Moisei Kantor of Bessarabia, professor of mineralogy at the University of La Plata and Ida Bondareva, founders of the Communist Party of Argentina. During 1941-1947, he fulfilled the military service, veteran of the World War I. Once his father was assigned as chief of the Department of Mineralogy of the Timiryazev Agricultural Academy in July 1926, he returned together with his parents to Moscow. In 1952, he graduated the Faculty of
Philosophy of the State University of Moscow Mihail Lomonosov. During 1953-1957, he taught the philosophy at the Institute of Irrigation and Vindication of Moscow.
He was one of the founders (1957) and deputy editor-in-chief of the journal "Decorative Arts of USSR'. In 1964, he defended the thesis of the degree of candidate in philosophical sciences themed "Theoretical Issued of Technical Estehtics". During
1965-1967, he conducted the Laboratory of Technical Esthetics. Since 1971, he con- ducted the International Institute of Labor Movement of the Academy of Sciences from USSR. After the liquidation of the Institute of Comparative Political Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences as independent scientific institution in 2005, he was the main scientist at theInstitute ofSociology of the Academy of Sciences of Russia.
He is brother of Alexei Korobitsin and of the writer Argentina Lila Guerrero; father of Maxim Kantor and Vladimir Kantor.
