Her father was from Bessarabia. Born in 1929 in San Miguel de Tucumán, north-
west Argentina, Nelly Minyersky is one of the most prominent women's rights acti- vists in her country. She was named an illustrious citizen of the city of Buenos Aires
in 2010 and has presided over the Women's Parliament since 2017. She was the first
woman president of the Asociación de Abogados de Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires Bar Association) and of the Tribunal de Disciplina del Colegio Público de Abogados de la Capital Federal (Disciplinary Tribunal of the Buenos Aires public Bar Association).
In 1998 she received the "Margarita de Ponce" March 8 Award from the Argentine Women's Union for her contribution to the women's movement, in 2002 she received the "Recognition Award" granted by the Association of University Specialists
in Women's Studies. He founded the National Campaign for the Right to Legal, Safe and Free Abortion together with Martha Rosenberg, Nina Brugo and Dora Barrancos. At the age of 27 he began to study Law at the University ofBuenos Aires and was received in 1961. Shortly after, he began to teach, an activity that he left after La
Noche de los Bastones Largos and resumed in 1973. She was excluded from teaching
forideological reasons by the National Reorganization Process and returned to ti with
the return to democracy. He has had a long career in the field of family law and has shown concern for different issues related to human rights.
