He is the son of RBS founder Mauricio Sirotsky Sobrinho and the uncle of the current president and chairman of theRBS Group, EduardoSirotsky Melzer. Al his professional activity, started in 1971, was developed at Grupo RBS, a company where he worked for 45 years, of which 21 years as president. With the death of Mauricio Sirotsky Sobrinho, on March 24th, 1986, Nelson took over as executive vice-president, a position he held until 1991. On May 15th of that year, he took over as head of the RBS group, when his uncle Jayme Sirotsky be- came chairman of the company's board of directors. Also in 1991, Nelson Sirotsky created the Editorial Board of the RBS Group, the body responsible for the compa- ny's editorial line. In 2004, Nelson Pacheco Sirotsky assumed the presidency of ANI (National Association of Newspapers), remaining at the helm of the entity for two terms. In 2016, he founded Maromar Investimentos, a company that manages his family's investments and supports causes such as entrepreneurship, sports and citi- zenship. Through Maromar, Nelson leads social initiatives such as the Tennis Institute - Nucleo Porto Alegre, a project designed by Jorge Paulo Lemann and which aims at promoting tennis as a sport in Brazil. He is currently a member oft h e National Council of Endeavor Brasil, an entity that promotes entrepreneurship in the country and an ambassador of the institution in Rio Grande do Sul.
