Her paternal grandmother was from Bessarabia. In 1991, at the age of 23, she joined TV Globo in São Paulo and made her debut as a girl from the time of the TV news program São Paulo J. In the following month, she started to present the weather forecast in Jornal Nacional, becoming the first woman to have a fixed profile on the TV news and to join ]N every day. He took the entrance exam, passed and started the journalism course while working. In April 1993, she was promoted to host ofFantásti- coalong with CelsoFreitas andFátima Bernardes.
It presented outstanding editions, such as the one dedicated to the death of p-i lot Ayrton Senna, in 1994. Sandra also covered the choice of Pope Benedict XVI in 2005 and the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, in 2007.
