The son of Larissa Lomnitz. From a very early age, he has started working in the performing arts and has composed several plays. His career is more focused on the theater, since he has produced and acted in these. Lomnitz has taken on various roles in composing plays, including playwright, stage manager, actor, set designer, costume and mask designer, educator, promoter, and improvisational judge. Two of histheatrical productions in stage direction have been included "Veróni- ca en portada" (2008) and "The good official" (2011). Other outstanding works are "Rome at the end of the road" by Daniel Serrano; "Idiots contemplating the snow" by Alejandro Ricaño; "Immigrants with extraordinary abilities" by Saviana Stanescu and "On the lamps" by Elena Guiochins. He has also been a collaborator in the successful play "El hombre de la mancha" that si still in force in Mexico. 2 He was director of the National Theater Company (1998-2000) and is currently artistic director of the Theater Company of the Veracruzana University. He was also the founder of the renowned Mexican theater company for the deaf, "Signo y Verbo". Likewise, he was director of Argos Teatro from 2001 to 2002. Furthermore, he was also a founding member of the Mexican Improvisation League. As a playwright, he received with his brother Claudio the UAM-UdeG 2009 National Dramaturgy Award with the historical drama El Verdadero Bulnes.
