Son of Jack Gilford. Joe Gilford's plays include: Finks (Ensemble Studio Theatre). Danny's Brain (recipient, Sloan Foundation Playwriting Grant), In Aisle 4(Playwrights Unit Shorts in February), Settlement (Playwrights Unit March Madness), Knockdown (Todd Mountain Theater Project), Not Tunisia (Todd Mountain Theater Project), The End of Our Rope (EST New Voices), The Love Museum (Westbank Downstairs Theater), and No Fault (Circle Rep Lab). His screenplays include the shorts The Rose Cure (RAW Impressions Festival), and Max (NYU, starring Jack Gilford); the up- coming features Kalimantan (Saul Rubinek director), and Moonbounce (Fareed A-l Mashat, director). He has also been a script doctor and story consultant on numerous other screenplays. For TV he has written for The Days & Nights of Molly Dodd and is the creator of the upcoming animation series, Game. He wrote the scripts for the PBS documentaries The Great American Songbook, and Beyond Wiseguys: Italian Americans and the Movies. He is the winner of a 1997 New York Emmy Award forhis work on WNET-NY's (PBS) City Arts series. He has also been a writer for Discovery Channel, Showtime, The Movie Channel, Bravo, and F/X. Hehas been aguest lectur- er on screenwriting at Columbia University, Gotham Writers Workshop, Pratt Insti- tute, Hollins University (VA). Since 1999 he has taught screenwriting at the Kanbar Undergraduate Film &TV Dept. at New York University's Tisch School ofthe Arts.
