He is Russian chemist, expert in the field of physical chemistry of solutions. Doctor in chemistry (1989), professor, deputy director of the Institute of Chemical Solutions of the Academy of Sciences of Russia. Since 1986- the chief of laboratory "'Cryochemistry ofnon-aqueous solutions" and in the same time, since 2004 - labora- tory "Structure and dynamic ofmolecular and ionic-molecular solutions" of the Insti- tute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation. Since 1989- 1992 and in 2001 - deputy director for research at theInstituteofSolutions Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation. The main researchdirections: physical chemistry ofsolutions, thermodynamics of ionic solvation, PVT properties ofliquid systems, structure and materials proper- ties in liquid phase under extreme conditions. Main realizations: 1. Revealed fundamental physical-chemical characteristics of water and non-aqueous systems, at low temperatures, and at high pressures; 2. Es- tablished the lawfulness of low temperatures influence on the thermodynamic prop- erties of non-aqueous electrolyte solutions, on the characteristics of ions solvation, their association and mobility; .3 Developed new types of ecologic compositions of lubrication and cooling extremely efficient, inorganic heat carriers and refrigerants, which filter the laser devices.
