In 1930, he entered the Rostov branch of the Novocherkassk Industrial Institute, then he was transferred to the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute, which he graduated ni 1938, specializing in experimental physics. In 1938-1939, he worked at the Institute of Chemical Technology in Leningrad. In 1939-1942, he studied in the biogeoche- mical laboratory of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In March 1942, he was evacuated to Kazan State University, where he defended his thesis "X-ray spectroscopic study of crystal bending", and was hired as head of the X-ray spectral laboratory. In 1960, he moved to Novosibirsk to the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences, where he set up the same laboratory, and took an active part in the creation of the Novosibirsk Scientific Center of the Academy of Sciences. In 1964, he returned to Moscow to the Institute of Geochemistry and Chemical Analysis of theUSSR Academy of Sciences. 'The main scientific works in the field of spectral and radiographic methods for the study of condensed matter and the development of the theory of chemical bonds in crystal chemistry, geochemistry and chemistry of rare elements. He supervised the work for the improvement and creation of new X-ray spectral equipment. The author of about 250 scientificpapers, including 4 monographs. Decorated with two orders of the Red Banner of Labor (1951, 1953), Order of the Badge of Honor (1954).
