He was born in the family of Mihail A. Gershenzon, with bessarabian roots. In 1952 he graduated from the State Pedagogical Institute in Moscow Vladimir Ilyich Lenin. He started working at the State Pedagogical University in Moscow, first became an assistant, then went through all the steps to the head of the department ofgeneral and experimental physics. He is a soviet and russian scientist in experimental physics, semiconductor physics and radio physics.
Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (1967), professor (1968), emer- itus scientist of the RSFSR, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Ed- ucational Sciences in the Department of Higher Education (1992). Honorary pro-
fessor at the Moscow State Pedagogical University (2000), scientific director of the
Radiophysical Problems Laboratory of the Moscow State Pedagogical University.
Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1980).
Author of over 400 scientific articles and 25 inventions. The best known pub-
