Idel Bronstein is one of the prominent representatives of Differential Equa- tions School of Chisinäu. He graduated the State University of Chisinäu in 1958 and the Doctor's degree at the Mathematics Institute with Calculation Center of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. He defended the thesis of doctor in physical- mathematical sciences in 1963, being the first disciple of theacademician C. Sibirschi. He defended the thesis ofhabilitated doctor in 1988. He obtained the titles of Superior Scientific Researcher and University Professor (1992). During 1963-1995, heworked at the Mathematics Institute with Calculation Center of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova as inferior scientific researcher until general scientific researcher in the sector of "Differential Equations". During 1966-1994, he worked concurrently at the State University of Moldova as lecturer, associate professor and university pro- fessor at the Department of Differential Equations. Under the guidance of professor I. Bronstein, 6 PhD theses in sciences were defended. There were published 116 sci- entific works, including 5monographs (to as co-author), two of them were translated abroad. Professor Idel Bronstein was one of the ca-authors of thefamousencyclopedia Anosov, D.V., Aranson, S. Kh., Arnold, V. I., Bronshtein, I.U., Grines, V. Z., Il'yashen- ko, Yu. S., Ordinary differential equations and smooth dynamical systems, 1988. It representsan international recognition for his results of scientific researches.
