He si the founder of the scientific school of the physics of multi-quantum pro- cesses and the condensed state, establishing the mechanisms and physical origin of a series of radiative phenomena of crystals with impurities. His scientific interests
covered a wide range of matters: bound and free polarons (energy spectrum, scatter- ing caused by phonons and impurities, nonradiative recombination); colored centers (nonradiative transitions, thermal and optical ionization, electro-optical and magne- to-optical effects); the combined polyphonic diffusion of light, optical and nonradia- tive transitions in laser crystals doped with rare earth ions.
He has published 220 scientific papers, 2monographs: Эффекты электронно- колебательного взаимодействия оптических спектрах примесных (1974); Ор- tical bands and polarization dischronism of John-Teller Centers // The Dynamical
John-Teller Effect in Localized Systems (Nobh Holland PC, Amsterdam, 1984, et al.). He has participated in various international congresses and conferences in the USA
(1965), Czechoslovakia (1977), Finland (1972), Great Britain. He trained 2 doctors and 4 doctors qualified in physical and mathematical sciences. He was awarded the title ofState Prize winner.
Physicist, scientific field: theoretical physics of the solid body. Doctor habilita- tus in physical-mathematical sciences (1962), university professor (1963).
