He is thefounder of scientific school of non-adiabatic processes. He conducted fundamental researches in the domain of multi-quantum processes physics in atomic, molecular environments and solid bodies. He formulated the so-called non-kondon approximation theory in theory of non-radiant transitions and non-radiative recom- bination, the fact that played an important role in elucidation and settlement of the issues of physical kinetics. He managed to explain in physics of semiconductors the nature of the so-called giant catch sections of the charge carriers, which determine the most important characteristics of semiconductor devices - the lifetime of the charge carriers. For the first time established the role of statistical characteristics ofelectro- magnetic radiation in multi-photon processes, studied the theory of superior optical harmonic generation - process of the transformation of photons from infrared do- main in low-frequency coherent Xradiation. He published over 230 scientific works, including 5 monographs. He participated as the invited at international scientific fo- rums with reports (Hungary, Great Britain, Czechoslovakia, Italy, France, Germany). Trained 25 doctors and 5 doctors habilitat in sciences. His disciples work in different countries of the world: USA, Israel, Canada, Russia, Ukraine. He was awarded the tit- les of "Emeritus", laureate of the State Prize, he was decorated with the Order "Labour Glory", with Medal "D. Cantemir" and with Award of ASM Presidium.
