Alexander Bonduriansky studied at the Chisināu Music State Conservatory un- der Alexander Sokovnin. He continued his piano and chamber music studies at the Moscow Conservatory under Dmitri Bashkirov and Tatiana Gaidamovich. As a solo- ist and member of the Moscow Piano Trio he has performed throughout Russia and abroad. He has taught at both the Chisinäu and the Moscow conservatories, and, since 1995, has been Professor at the Moscow Conservatory Faculty of Chamber Music. As a leading teacher, he has nurtured more than 250 graduates, including a number of prize-winning chamber ensembles. Many of his former students are now conservatory teachers throughout Russia. He has given numerous master classes and headed the juries of international competitions in Russia and abroad. Since 1975 he has been playing with the Moscow Trio. Alexander Bondurian- sky is the author of scientific works on the history of chamber ensemble, composers styles, problems of art interpretation and music education. He is the Candidate of Sciences, chairman and jury member ofnumerous international and all-Russian com- petitions. He is vice-rector of Moscow State Conservatory, President of Chamber Music Association of the International Union of Musicians. He was awarded the honourable title "Peoples Artist of Russia", Moscow Prize in Literature and Art, The Gold Medal of Irina Arkhipova Fund, Medal of Honour of P. Tchaikovsky Fund.
