The maternal grandparents came from Bessarabia and Russia to Brazil. Eduardo Morelenbaum discovered his interest in music very early. Born intoa musician's family, his father is aconductor and composition teacher, his mother is a pianist, his sister is a clarinetist, and his brother is one of the members of the Jobim-Morelenbaum quartet. The conductor says that he could not have entered another profession and gives the tip: "The main requirement for those who are in this career is versatility, in addi- tion to the total involvement that makes them seek more and more new horizons". Edu, as he is called, is the conductor of the choir for the companies Ipiranga, Firjan and Inmetro, in addition to having conducted that of Shell, Cimento Paraíso and Coca-Cola. With an eclectic taste, he likes all kinds ofmusic and the curriculum itself shows his musical versatility. He was a member of the Symphonic Orchestra of the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro for 10 years. He played with Gal Costa, Los Hermanos, Caetano Veloso, in addition to recording with other MPB gems, such as Chico Buarque, Edu Lobo, Zeca Pagodinho, João Bosco and Adriana Calcanhoto. He also worked with T i t s in the band's song book. He studied musicology at the Brazilian Conservatory of Music. And the theme of the thesis he defended was "Coral from a company a valuable element for the total quality project".
