Her great-grandmother, Ida Serebrisky, was born in Chisinäu, Bessarabia. Her full name is Marta Jacqueline Weinstein Levy. After his return to Chile, he joined a non-governmental organization, and in the early 1990s he joined the Government, specifically as a member of the International Cooperation Agency (AGCI), then under the auspices of the Ministry of Planning and Cooperation ( Mideplan). In 1994 she became director of Planning and Budget of the Ministry of National Assets.
Between 1997 and 2003 she worked at the Ministry of Foreign Relations, where she was, successively, advisor to the Economic Directorate, executive director of the AGCI and deputy director of Prochile. Between 2004 and 2006 she served as undersecretary of National Assets, during the government of President Ricardo Lagos. In 2006 he took over as executive director of the Museo Interactivo Mirador, a position he held until January 2010 when he was appointed Minister of National Assets, Who served during the last two months of the first government of Michelle Bachelet. As part of its management, the 27 of January of 2010 announced the delivery of a property tax to the Committee Representative of Jewish Institutions of Chile, for the construction of a monument to the Holocaust. This was carried out within the framework of the commemoration ceremony for the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the folocaust, held in the O'Higgins Room of the Ministry of Foreign A flairs.
