He is the son of Pinky Wainer and the grandson of Samuel Wainer from Bessarabia. He directed the feature films "PIXO" and "JUNHO". He worked for the Folha newspaper in Sao Paulo for 20 years between 1996 and 2016, holding the po- sitions of photojournalist, photo editor, TV director Folha and special reporter. He created and developed the TV Folha project, winner of the Esso Journalism Award in 2013. He has collaborated with publications such as Vice, New York Times, The Times, Rolling Stone and Trip. He launched the photo books "Aqui Dentro: Carandi- ru" (Imprensa Oficia) and "Ultimas Praias" (Terra Virgem). He has exhibited his work at the Quay Branly Museum (Paris), the Cartier Foundation (Paris), MASP (São Pau- lo), MUBE (São Paulo) and at the Reencontreé DÁrles festival (Arles), etc. Currently, in addition to his personal projects, he directs documentaries and com- mercials for various clients, including Google, Spotify, Netflix, Santander, Itau, Ambev and Nivea. He won the 'Don Quixote de La Perifa" award for two consecutive years in 2007 and 2008. His photographs are part of the Pirelli/MASP collection. He has direct- ed music videos and made album tracks for artists such as Emicida, Chico Buarque, Gilberto Gil, Mallu Magalhães, Rita Lee, Jair Rodrigues, Racional MC, MV Bil and others, after winning the VMB Award at MTV Brasil (MV Bill, 2001) and the Multishow Award for Best Video (Emicida, 2016).
