By the late 1970s, he transitioned to the film & TV industry and went on to hold several positions at Astral Media over the next decade. In 1988, Paul Bronfman founded Comweb Corp., which went on to build and manage Canada's first Hollwood-style studio, North Shore Studios in Vancouver, in partnership with well-known writer/producer Stephen J. White International Inc., (Whites) Canadas oldest and largest provider of professional motion picture, television, live event, digital media production equipment and technical expertise. Comweb also owns and operates Whites Location Equipment Supply Inc. (Whites LES), Canadas only national provider of professional location services to the motion picture, television, commercial and special events industries. Comweb is also an active partner in Pinewood Toronto Studios, a world-class, state-of-the-art film and television production facility. Mr. Bronfmans company sponsors numerous industry organizations across the country including Banff World Media Festival.
Toronto International Film Festival and Vancouver International Film Festival, among many others. Mr. Bronfman serves on numerous industry boards including The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, The Canadian Media Production Acsociation, Film Ontario and the Ontario Media Development Corporation.
