His parents emigrated from Bessarabia to Brazil. He is the seventh from thenine children of Josepth and Sima Feldman. Ezequeil worked always with medical books. In 1950, he started to work at Guanabara Koogan Library, where he was an assistant of his brother Luiz at the National Faculty of Medicine, Praia Vermelha. At that time he was invited to be the first seller at Al Ateneo Library, editor at Buenos Aires, which
opened a branch in Rio de Janeiro, later he was a seller at Atheneu Library, where he became its manager. In 1965, he decided to open his own publishing house.
On March 11th, 1966, he founded his individualized company Ezequeil Feldman. Shortly after, he invited his brother Luiz Feldman to be his partner, changing the name in Editora Cultura Medica. He started the publishing the medical and para- medical books. In 1989, they were approached by another brother, Isaac Feldman, who proposed them to publish a collection of specialty books, composed of 18 volumes for Brazilian Ophthalmology Library. The ophthalmology became his main niche of
activities. He continues to publish works related to other branches ofmedicine, but the biggest efforts are directed toward thepublication of ophthalmology books, the parti- cipation in ophthalmologic events in order to consolidatethe relations with the schools
and the institutions related to ophthalmology. Today the ophthalmology represents approximatively 90% of the publishing house portfolio.
