He is the son of lawyer Albert Haroche and Valentina Haroche (born Roublev). His maternal grandmother was Sofie Fronstein (who came from Chisinäu). He's a
brother to Joel and Serge. He has been an intern at hospitals in Paris since 1976. To- gether with his brother Joël, he founded Journal international de médecine (JIM) in
1979. This press title, which disappeared in 1998, after 398 editions, had the pecu-
liarity to provide translations of complete medical texts, medical articles published in
renowned international medical journals (New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, British Medical Journal, etc.).
After obtaining his dissertation in 1982, he was appointed as head of the cli- nic in the infectious diseases department of Professor Christian Lafaix at the CHI in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, where he became one of the AIDS specialists. In 1985, he founded the abstracts of specialties, which were summarized in French interna-
tional medical articles in 9 specialties (dermato, cardio, gynecology, etc.), thus being the creator ofthe modern medical press of the specialist. Finally, in 1995, he created
Universe Sante, a health journal for the general public. In 1999, he sold to the Valdemars publications group, responsible for the editions ofthese various titles to the
Impact Médecin group, the leader of themedical press. In turn, ti recovers online JIM, the site for health professionals today number 1of theinternet reserved for doctors.
