His mother Rose Pearl Goodheart (Sudman) emigrated from Telenesti, Bessarabia to the United States. He is the brother of Judge Bernard Goodheart.
Dr. Herbert Goodheart, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology is a Voluntary Attending holding an academic rank ofthe Associate Clinical Professor in
the Department of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
He received his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College (now
Drexel University College of Medicine) in 1971, followed by a rotating internship at the Crozier-Chester Medical Center in Chester, Pennsylvania. Dr. Goodheart be-
gan his dermatology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx,
New York, and he completed his residency at the New York Medical College in 1980. His professional experience includes private practice in New York City and
Poughkeepsie, New York. Dr. Goodheart served as Director of Dermatology at the Kaiser - Permanente Health Plan, Poughkeepsie, New York; as Director of Dermatology, North Central Bronx Hospital, Bronx, New York; and most recently, as Director of Dermatology at Elmhurst Hospital Center, Elmhurst, New York.
He has been associated with Mount Sinai since 2002 where he has been actively
involved in teaching dermatology residents and medical students. He is Contributing Editor - Women's Health in Primary Care, Gynecology Edition.
