He is the brother of Waldemar Zaclis. At first a neurosurgeon, he eventually devoted himself exclusively to neuroradiology given the growing demand in this field.
He then organized the Neuroradiology service at the clinie and was its first leader. In 1974, he created the postgraduate course in Neuroradiology and, in 1976, he participated in the installation at the Hospital of S. Joaquim da Real and Benemérita So-ciedad Portuguesa de Beneficência, of the first computed tomography service in the country. He was preoccupied of the inherent risks in neuroradiological examinations
-having even devoted part of his research to their study - he was particularly pleased to welcome the advent of computed tomography. He was rightly proud to be a pioneer in this field as well. He had a constant scientific production and participated in continuouslv and interested of medical organizations and congresses. He received the Austregésilo Prize from the National Academy of Medicine in 1951 and, three times. the Eniolras Vampré Prize from the Associação Paulista de Medicina (1955, 1957 and 1965). He was president of the Department of Neurology of the Pauline Medical Association in 1968; Secretary of the Society of Neurosurgery for the biennium 64-66 Founding member and main supporter of the Brazilian Society of Computed Tomog raphy, being its first president in 1979, organizing and leading the First Brazilian Con gress of Computed Tomography.
