The daughter of David Grinfeld. In both cases, she was the first woman in the scientific community tohold these positions. In 1974, he completed aspecialization in cardiology at the Medical College of the Provinceof Buenos Aires, Grinfeld was part of
the Center for Hemodynamics and Invasive Cardiology, directed by the eminent inter- ventional cardiologist Luisde al Fuente, an entity that his friends created with the aim ofhaving the samemedical care in Argentina in cardiology than in the United States.
In 1986, he completed a second specialization, in interventional cardiology, at the Co- legio Argentino de Cardiología Intervencionista. In 1992, she was elected president of the Argentine Cardiological Society, one of the oldest and with the most members.
In 2005, she was elected president of the Fundación Cardiológica and in 2006 she was re-elected. In 2006, the Ministry of Health and Social Action awarded her the Out- standing Women in Health award. In 1980, he performed the first coronary balloon angioplasty in Argentina at the Antarctica sanatorium, after his former boss, Dr. Luis de la Fuente, whoperformed the first successful angioplasty in the country in 1979, on a femoral artery in the leg. and was the first woman to use stents in that country. She
was head of the Hemodynamics Department of the Italian Hospital (in Buenos Aires),
of the San Camilo Clinic (in Buenos Aires), of the Spanish Hospital (of La Plata) and of the Atlantic Cardiovascular Institute (in Mar del Plata).
