He is the brother of Abraham Krivoy. His parents, Leon Krivoy and Clara Onikman, emigrated from Bessarabia to Venezuela after the First World War.
He graduated the Faculty of Surgery at the Central University of Venezuela in 1963, later obtaining a doctorate in medical sciences at the Central University of Venezuela in 1968. He was a resident physician at the Neurosurgery Service of the General Hospital of the Institute of Social Security in Venezuela (IVSS) during the vears 1964-1968. He held several internships and positions in medical institutions in Venezuela, until he was elected head of the neurosurgery department, through a com- petition at the University Hospital of Caracas between 2001 and 2004. He had exter- nal training in Philadelphia (USA), Baltimore (USA), New Haven (USA), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Gainesville (USA), Montreal (Canada), New York (USA), etc. He became an Honorary Professor of the postgraduate course in neurosurgery, Central Hospital of Valencia (2003); Head of the Medical Society of Caracas Medical Center. He has written several books in the field of the evolution of neurosurgical treat- ment of pituitary pathology and vertebral fixation by using acrylic material, etc.
