Chief executive Middle East Amundi Asset Management UAE In 2016 Europe’s largest asset manager, with €1.4tn in assets, turned to Standard Chartered’s head of investors, public sector and sovereign wealth funds to lead its Middle East operations. Srouji moved Amundi’s regional headquarters from Abu Dhabi to the Dubai International Financial Centre in May 2017 and has overseen a doubling of assets under management in the region, expanding both the number of clients and range of investments, buoyed by the acquisition of Pioneer Investments in 2017 and organic growth. A former mergers and acquisitions lawyer who started her investment banking career at Goldman Sachs in 2002, in 2006 Srouji moved to National Bank of Kuwait, where she launched the Middle East and North Africa’s first mezzanine fund. She next joined Standard Chartered to set up its private equity business in the region. Srouji is a graduate of Canada’s Osgoode Hall Law School and holds an MBA from Insead.
