Mihaela Curmei
This person is a highly accomplished and motivated individual with a strong background in computer science and data analysis. They are currently a 5th year PhD student at UC Berkeley in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, with a focus on the interaction between algorithmic and societal systems. They have previously worked as a Student Researcher at Google and as a Software Development Engineer at Microsoft, where they worked on a variety of projects ranging from ML solutions for industrial scenarios to crisis prediction for humanitarian aid institutions. They have also worked as a Peer Tutor at Princeton University, where they graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Operations Research and Financial Engineering. They have won several awards, including the Procter & Gamble Award for best senior thesis in Operations Research and Financial Engineering and the SIGIR 2017 Best Paper Award. They are currently open to full-time ML Research roles in industry starting August 2024.
