Bologa Mircea was born in the village of Parcova, EdineČ› district, into a family of school teachers. He completed primary school in Parcova and secondary school in EdineČ› in 1948. He graduated from Chisinau State University in 1956 and pursued post-graduate studies at the Institute of Energy in Moscow. At 26, he defended his candidate thesis in technical sciences in 1961. He was a member of the CPSU from 1962 to 1991.From 1963 to 1974, he led a laboratory at the Institute of Applied Physics, and in 1973, he defended his doctoral habilitate thesis in technical sciences. He became a professor in 1976, a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the SSR in 1978, and a full member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Moldova in 1993.
