Bostan Ion is a notable figure in the field of technical sciences from Moldova. Born in Parcova, EdineČ› district, he comes from a family of school teachers. His educational journey began in his native village, continued through secondary school in EdineČ›, and culminated with his graduation from Chisinau State University in 1956. He pursued further studies at the Institute of Energy in Moscow, where he defended his candidate thesis in technical sciences in 1961 at the age of 26.Ion Bostan was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) from 1962 to 1991. He headed a laboratory at the Institute of Applied Physics from 1963 to 1974 and defended his doctoral habilitate thesis in technical sciences in 1973. He earned the title of professor in 1976. In 1978, he became a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the SSR, and in 1993, he was recognized as a full member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Moldova.
