Boris Gaina has a rich and diverse professional background, showcasing expertise in oenology, viticulture, and agricultural sciences. With extensive experience spanning several prestigious roles, he has made significant contributions to the scientific community.Gaina's journey began at the Polytechnic Institute of Chișinău, where he served as an assistant, delving into the intricacies of wine technology and fostering a passion for the field. His career trajectory took him to the National Institute of Vine and Wine (INVV) in Moldova, where he assumed the role of Director of Oenology, spearheading scientific endeavors in oenology, viticulture, and food biotechnology.Subsequently, Gaina transitioned to a pivotal role as Scientific Secretary General at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (AȘM), where he managed scientific affairs, represented the academy internationally, and conducted groundbreaking research in oenology and food biotechnology. His leadership and expertise led to his appointment as the Academic Coordinator of the Agricultural Sciences Section at AȘM, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the agri-food sector through research and collaboration.In recognition of his exemplary contributions, Gaina was promoted to Deputy Head and eventually Vice President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, assuming responsibility for overseeing the Life Sciences Section. In this capacity, he continues to drive innovation, foster collaboration, and advance scientific knowledge in Moldova and beyond.Gaina's academic journey is underscored by his Ph.D. in Technical Sciences, with a specialization in oenology, complemented by additional training and research internships in leading institutions across Europe. His dedication to advancing scientific knowledge is reflected in his numerous publications, patents, and awards, cementing his legacy as a trailblazer in the field of oenology and agricultural sciences.
