Dmitrii Lozovanu is a distinguished mathematician whose academic and professional journey spans several decades of dedication to the field of mathematical cybernetics. He earned his Master of Science degree in Mathematics from the State University of Moldova in 1970. Subsequently, he pursued doctoral studies, specializing in Mathematical Cybernetics, at the Institute of Cybernetics of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences in Kiev. In 1980, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis, and later in 1991, he attained the prestigious title of Doctor Habilitat in Physical and Mathematical Sciences.Throughout his career, Lozovanu has been deeply involved in research across various domains of mathematical sciences, including Mathematical Programming, Operations Research, Game Theory, Optimal Control, Markov Decision Processes, and Complexity Theory. His contributions to these fields are evidenced by his extensive publication record, which includes 217 scientific works, including monographs and chapters in specialized editions.In terms of professional experience, Lozovanu has held numerous roles at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, where he currently serves as the Head of the Laboratory and Principal Scientific Researcher. Over the years, he has demonstrated leadership and expertise, progressing from roles such as Scientific Research Coordinator to Head of Section and ultimately to his current position.Beyond his academic and research endeavors, Lozovanu has been actively involved in scientific organizations and editorial boards. He has served as a member of the Scientific Council of INTAS, the Mathematical Society of Moldova, and various editorial boards, including the prestigious Computer Science Journal of Moldova and Cybernetics and Computer Technologies in Kiev.His remarkable contributions to the field of mathematical sciences have been recognized through numerous awards and honors, including the State Prize in Science, Technology, and Production, the Academician C. Sibirschi Prize, and the Scientist of the Year 2009 award from the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, among others. Additionally, Lozovanu has played a significant role in mentoring and nurturing young scientific talent, having supervised the doctoral studies of eight individuals in Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
