Fliur Zainutdin Macaev, a distinguished figure in the realm of organic chemistry, boasts a rich academic and professional background. Graduating from the Bashkirian State Pedagogical University, he obtained his PhD from the Institute of Organic Chemistry at the Ural Polytechnic Institute under the mentorship of Academician Professor Ghenrikh Tolstikov in 1990. Following this, he pursued postdoctoral studies in vitamin D3 analog synthesis at the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences and in insect-antifeedant synthesis at Wageningen Agricultural University.Since 1999, Macaev has been an integral part of the Institute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, where he currently serves as the head of the Laboratory of Organic Synthesis. Over the years, he has held various positions within the Institute, including leading scientific researcher and senior scientific researcher. Notably, he has been recognized as a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova since 2023.Macaev's expertise spans multiple domains within organic and medicinal chemistry, environmental sciences, nano-chemistry, and new catalyst development. He has contributed significantly to the field through his research projects focused on discovering new catalytic systems, synthesizing biologically active compounds, and exploring the applications of ionic liquids as green alternatives for conventional solvents. His work has been funded and recognized both nationally and internationally, with involvement in numerous projects and collaborations.In addition to his academic pursuits, Macaev is a prolific author with numerous publications in esteemed journals and books.
