Victor Moraru has established himself as a prominent figure in academia and research, particularly in the fields of political science and journalism. He currently holds the position of Vice President at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova since June 2019. Moraru has been associated with various prestigious institutions throughout his career. From 2010, he has served as a Scientific Consultant at the Institute of Legal, Political, and Sociological Research. Additionally, he has been a Professor at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences at the State University of Moldova since 2002. Notably, Moraru held the position of Academic Coordinator of the Social and Economic Sciences Section at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova from February 2013 to December 2018. Prior to this, he served as the Director of the Institute for European Integration and Political Sciences at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova from June 2010 to February 2013. Moraru's academic qualifications include a Doctorate in Political Science obtained in 2001, followed by a promotion to the position of Professor in 2005. He also holds a Doctorate in Philology earned in 1982, with subsequent promotion to Associate Professor in 1991. Moraru's research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including contemporary political systems, media democracy challenges, symbolic politics resources, facets of migration processes, and the European integration and international relations of the Republic of Moldova. He has authored or co-authored over 400 scientific works, including monographs, studies, articles, reviews, and translations, published in various national and international journals and publishing houses. Moraru's significant contributions to academia and research have earned him recognition, including being elected as a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova in 2017 and as an Honorary Member of the Academy of Scientists of Romania in 2015. Additionally, he has received numerous grants and awards for his outstanding scholarly achievements, and he has participated in numerous international conferences and seminars as a presenter and organizer. Through his extensive teaching, research, and academic leadership, Moraru continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of knowledge in his field both nationally and internationally.
