Mihail Todiras is a researcher and professor of pharmacology and anesthesiology, currently affiliated with the Max-Delbrück Center of Molecular Medicine in Berlin, Germany. He has conducted studies on the genome sequences of SARS-CoV-2 strains from the Republic of Moldova and the characterization of the antibody response in Sinopharm (BBIBP-CorV) recipients and COVID-19 convalescent sera from Moldova. He has also researched the role of serum amyloid A1 in myotube atrophy via Toll-like receptors and the inhibition of the NLRP3/IL-1β axis in protecting against sepsis-induced muscle atrophy.
