Valeriu Mosneaga is a professor at the Moldova State University, with major fields of interest in international migration and the formation and activity of the multi-party system in Moldova. He has received the Citizen Emeritus award from the Republic of Moldova in 2006. Mosneaga has been cited by 344 articles in political science, migration, and sociology, and has published reports on Moldova's emigration and diaspora, readmission, return, and reintegration. He is also a consultant for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on migration and development, and has written on gendered migration from Moldova and Ukraine to the European Union.
