Mark Clements is an active clinician scientist with 25% clinical time and 75% research time. He has chaired the Type 1 Diabetes Exchange Clinic Registry and currently serves as data science co-lead for the Type 1 Diabetes Exchange Quality Improvement Collaborative. Mark Clements leads his hospital's TrialNet Clinical Center and leads many clinical trials in type 1 diabetes. He also leads a large project to evaluate the utility of advanced machine learning natural language processing and deep learning used to predict near-term outcomes in diabetes. He marries those predictions to quality improvement-based interventions to improve diabetes care. In May 2019, Mark Clements also became the Chief Medical Officer of Glooko, Inc.
