Full professor at the Instituto de Computação in the Universidade Federal do Amazonas (IComp/UFAM). Researcher and advisor in undergraduate, master's, and doctorate degrees. Completed his doctorate in Computer Science at UFMG (2002). Research interests involve Data Management, Information Retrieval, and Data Mining with an emphasis on the World-Wide Web and Social Media environment. Coordinated and participated in dozens of research projects on these topics that resulted in more than 150 scientific publications in good quality journals and conference proceedings in these areas.
