I am a Fellow in the Retrieval Group in the Information Technology Laboratory at the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). My primary responsibility at NIST has been to manage the Text REtrieval Conference (TREC), an international workshop series that defines the methodology and builds the infrastructure required for large-scale evaluation of search and related technologies. My research focuses on developing and validating appropriate evaluation schemes to measure system effectiveness in these areas.
