Fred is a co-founder of Ascent Robotics, an AI startup based in Japan. The company specializes in developing autonomous robots and vehicles using machine learning algorithms based on theoretical neuroscience. Ascent Robotics successfully raised $18M in Series A in 2018 and employs engineers and scientists from over 20 countries. In addition to Ascent, Fred has founded two other AI firms and chairs Decoded, a Tokyo-based collective of AI and machine learning experts.
