TECHLEAD - COMPUTER VISION TEAM CITY OF AMSTERDAM Laurens is the Tech Lead of the Computer Vision Team for the City of Amsterdam. As a background, Laurens obtained a masters degree in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Amsterdam, where he was able to publish his thesis at one of the biggest computer vision conferences (ICCV). After that, he worked as a Machine Learning Engineerat Research & Development for autonomous driving at TomTom.For the City of Amsterdam, Laurens started in the AI team, where he built prototypes for blurring algorithms and garbage detection. Thereafter, he co-founded the Computer Vision Team, which aims to create valuable machine learning solutions to detect relevant objects in the public space in an ethical manner. These solutions will contribute to the goals of the municipality to improve the livability, cleanliness and safety of the city.
