Taesu Kim

Country: South Korea
Taesu Kim is a highly qualified researcher who has earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Hanyang University in 2001, followed by a Master's Degree and a Doctorate from KAIST in 2003 and 2007 respectively. Kim worked as a visiting scholar at the Institute for Neural Computation at UCSD between the years 2004-2006 where he contributed to developing unsupervised feature learning and source separation. Following that, he worked as a senior research engineer for LG Electronics from 2007 to 2010, where he developed machine learning algorithms for audio signal processing. In 2010, Kim joined Qualcomm and established the Korea Research Centre. As a staff engineer/manager, he developed machine learning algorithms for low-power microphones, such as environmental sound classification, audio event detection, key phrase detection, and speech recognition. His hard work paid off, and he was promoted to various positions, including staff engineer, staff engineer/manager, and senior staff engineer/manager in 2011, 2012, and 2014, respectively. Later, in his career, Kim founded a startup called Neosapience, Inc., aiming to enable artificial intelligence with emotion and personality. His expertise in developing unsupervised feature learning, source separation, and machine learning algorithms for audio signal processing is instrumental in achieving his goals.
