Dr. Sands is the CEO of Nurix, a company focused on discovering and developing therapies that regulate protein function through the ubiquitin proteasome system (UPS), with applications in oncology and immuno-oncology. Before joining Nurix, he co-founded Lexicon Pharmaceuticals and served as its president and CEO, pioneering gene knockout technology and guiding the company's growth into a drug development company with a diverse product portfolio for various diseases. Dr. Sands holds an M.D. and Ph.D. from Baylor College of Medicine and a B.A. in economics and political science from Yale University.
