Brian Druker, M.D., is the Director of the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Knight Cancer Institute, holding the JELD-WEN Chair of Leukemia Research at OHSU, and an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. His significant contributions to cancer research include the development and successful clinical trials of the drug Gleevec (imatinib), which targets the molecular defect in chronic myeloid leukemia and gastrointestinal stromal tumors, resulting in FDA approval and recognition with numerous awards.
