Bart O. Roep is a distinguished Professor in the field of Diabetology, with a particular focus on the immunopathology of type 1 diabetes mellitus. He currently holds multiple esteemed positions, serving as Professor of Diabetology, Immunopathology & Intervention, and Director of the National Diabetes Center of Excellence at Leiden University Medical Center in The Netherlands.
