Prof. Jochen Prehn is the Chair of the Department of Physiology & Medical Physics and the Director of the Centre for Systems Medicine at RCSI. He was the inaugural recipient of the Science Foundation Ireland Research Professorship award in 2003. Prof. Prehn is an esteemed global expert in single-cell analysis, molecular regulation of apoptosis, nerve cell death, and mitochondrial control of cell death. He also serves on the RCSI Research Executive and was previously on the Board of Directors of Molecular Medicine Ireland.
