Justin Ichida is the head of the Ichida Lab at the University of Southern California, focusing on creating in vitro models of human neurodegenerative diseases by converting patients' skin fibroblasts into affected neural cells. This approach allows them to screen numerous drug-like compounds to find potential therapeutics that can halt or slow down the degeneration of these cells, with the ultimate goal of benefiting patients with these diseases.
